SITUATION
The ability to access your health information can save lives in an emergency, can help prevent mistakes in taking medications and improve coordination of care, increase awareness and control over your health.

However, too often, medical information is cumbersome and incomprehensible, making it difficult for patients,
caregivers, and their doctors to use it.

See what a standard patient outpatient card looks like now. It looks like a check from a store or a bank receipt. Uninformative, incomprehensible. If you are an ordinary person with a history of treatment with different doctors, then it's very difficult to figure it out.
Main goal
Important information is hidden in these entries. Potentially, it should help, and not prevent us from managing our own health.

At the moment, patients are like couriers transferring our notes from one doctor to another, not understanding what is in them.
Medical card right now
Find talented designers whose logic and approach we can understand and share. We will continue full-fledged work on a detailed study of the design of all our products on a contract basis.
1. NO PERSONAL TOUCH
General information, medical terminology, professional slang.
It makes you feel like a laboratory sample, not a patient.

2. NO PRIORITY
All illnesses, visits to the doctor and the course of treatment are mixed together and go in random order. Ankle sprain and complex surgery can be listed on the same list.

3. NO DYNAMICS
The values of past analyzes are in isolation from current health information. We do not see how health has evolved and changed over time.
Medical Record Issues
PROBLEMS
4. CONVENIENT TREATMENT PLAN
The values of past analysis are in isolation from current health information. We do not see how health has evolved and changed over time.

5. LACK OF LOGIC AND LINKS
In the medical data, information about taking medicine, doctor's appointments, diseases, treatment plans are not connected at all. It is difficult to find the relationship and rules between them.

New design goals
  • Our aim is to simplify the care of citizens about their health thanks to modern technologies and interfaces.

  • Make sure that the work of doctors as effective as possible. Provide quick access to all necessary patient information
Target Audience
AUDIENCE
The new design of a modern medical record should be useful for both patients and doctors (of course, the design for them will be different). Each participant of the Competition has the right to choose for whom he will create a design: for doctors or patients. We propose to focus on the following examples of the target audience (they are given in order to show the whole diversity of product users):
Understands modern technologies and actively uses gadgets.
Youth
Lives in a small provincial town.
Low-income parent
An elderly person who is difficult to read.
Pensioner
It takes care of the health of its children and helps aging parents.
Busy mother
With a certain frequency passes a lot of tests. He is undergoing treatment at several doctors.
Chronic disease patient
Takes a lot of new patients every day. Has a limited inspection time.
General practitioner
Patients from the same family periodically refer to him for five consecutive years.
Family dentist
Observed pregnancy in clients for 9+ months, during which she prescribed a large number of tests.
Gynaecologist
Type of patients
Examples of doctors
TODO
Each country has its own standards for storing medical data on patient cards. But at this stage, it makes no sense to get attached to their specifics. The approach and logic of working with data is important.

For example, here are the basic medical data:
What exactly needs to be done?
Based on this data, you should show your vision of presenting information for our 2 main target audiences: Patients and Doctors.
You can choose any of these audiences (which is closer and more understandable to you) and for her show the approach to presenting information. Of course, we will only be happy if you make 2 submissions. Other things being equal, this will be an advantage for you.
Freedom to create
We do not want to limit your flight of imagination and creativity. We consciously give great freedom, hoping for a non-standard approach to solving the described problem of the current medical record.

We want a qualitatively revolutionary breakthrough, have our vision of the appearance and structure of the design. But we do not want to impose it on you, thereby driving them into some rigid framework. It is not so important which data you take to demonstrate the visualization logic. Take those that are closer and clearer to you. Often important are not absolute values, but relative. The idea is important, not the final study.

If Steve Jobs simply improved the push-button telephone, and did not look much wider and freer, then the iPhone in the current version would never have been born and revolutionized the smartphone market. The logic is something like this.
Patients card
Patients card
1) Patient Profile

Demography
Confidant
Clinic
Allergies
Vaccinations

General information about the patient, usually static, grouped in one place and not scattered throughout the card.

2) Interaction History (Problem / History)

List of problems
Procedures
Receptions / meetings (which were)

The history of health is non-linear. Problems are divided not only by chronology, but also by disease. Everything is clear and understandable. It can be seen what they tried to do, what helped and what didn't. When and where was at the appointments, which doctors.

3) Snapshot

Visual representation of the main diseases of the human body
Annotated reduction in patient active problems. It provides brief summaries of color-coded problems that include modern laboratory tests and medications. We imagine that this is what they store in the refrigerator along with a schedule of medicines.

4) Medicines

Drug treatment
Care plan (receptions / meetings to be)

Not only a list of recipes, but also a tool to not forget anything important. Medications are grouped by problem, which gives a more complete picture of the medical plan of action. Here, patients are informed about the dosage, instructions ("what to do"), meaning (what he is doing) and special requirements. The summary is accompanied by a timeline that helps the patient understand the sequence and caveats of his medication schedule.

5) Laboratory results (tests and history)

Lipid panel
Complete blood count
Analysis of urine

Here you need to not just show the numbers of specific laboratory indicators. But also show the dynamics, the magnitude of the deviation from the reference values, the trend of change.
